#DutchGP | Sam Lowes ahead of everyone in FP1 after a red flag
The Briton has been the fastest guy on track in Moto2 FP1 ahead of Lorenzo Baldassarri and Jonas Folger
Sam Lowes has been the fastest rider on track so far in FP1 Moto2 session in which we had a red flag just 10 minutes after the start of the free practice. It was Ekky Pratama causing it due to a crash; Honda Team Asia rider stayed on the gravel for a while and was assisted after being taken out by the ambulance.
At the restart Sam Lowes did the best lap and ended the morning in first position ahead of Lorenzo Baldassarri; the Italian from Pons wants to come back to victory after tough races in which he lost championship lead as well. Lorenzo is just 0.006s slower than the best performance.
Just 42 thousandths of a second separate him from Jonas Folger, who seems to be in a really good shape after a difficult weekend in Barcelona; the German finished 3rd ahead of Remy Gardner, 4th and followed by championship leader Alex Marquez, who is the last rider having less than one tenth of a second of gap from the leader.
Tom Luthi is 6th despite a really good lap in his last attempt but he was not able to improve that, while Jorge Navarro and Brad Binder follow him being really close. Same for Fabio Di Giannantonio, just 0.009s slower than KTM rider, with Marcel Schrotter 10th.
Last 4 places for Q2 are actually taken by Luca Marini, Raul Fernandez, Enea Bastanini and Andrea Locatelli, who is 14th with six tenths of a second of gap from Sam Lowes.
