#CatalanGP | Three in a row for Marquez who gets championship lead also!
Alex Marquez keeps his shape in Barcelona winning again after being successful in France and Italy and he gets championship lead also as Baldassarri crashes out
We said a few weeks ago that Alex Marquez was a serious title contender, now probably is the main candidate for the championship as long as the Spaniard wins his third consecutive race in home soil managing the race in the best way possible. It is an all-in for Marc VDS rider thanks to Lorenzo Baldassarri’s mistake that forced him out of the race while he was trying to come back on the first positions. Alex got so also championship lead.

Not the best luck for Lorenzo who had two contacts at the start with Remy Gardner, with the Australian crashing out at turn 4 and the Italian losing many positions. Pons’ rider tried then to push as much as he could but he made a mistake which costed him the race. Things went better for his teammate Augusto Fernandez, who tried to run away at the start but he was not able to, losing a lot of grip on the tyres as well, but the Spaniard was still able to finish just outside the podium in 4th position.
Good result for Tom Luthi who ended in 2nd despite a late recovery from Jorge Navarro, with the Swiss having a good result for the championship also, overtaking Lorenzo Baldassarri for a 2nd position in the championship too. SpeedUp race was going well with Fabio Di Giannantonio too, but the Italian fell down in the middle of the race while he was 3rd.
Best rookie has been Enea Bastianini who made a really consistent race finishing in 5th ahead of Luca Marini, who won the fight against Xavi Vierge and Marcel Schrotter.
