#CatalanGP | Marquez fires up FP1 session!
Reigning World Champions opens the day in Barcelona with the fastest time of the morning, ahead of Quartararo and Vinales
Marc Marquez seems to be really confident in his home Gran Prix and did the fastest time of the morning so far, showing great pace as usual. Reigning World Champion performed a 1.40.692 which is faster than one tenth of a second of Fabio Quartararo’s time, 2nd.

The French is the first Yamaha in time sheet ahead of Maverick Vinales, who led the session for a while and ended at just 69 thousandths of a second from Quartararo’s lap. Surely this is a better start than Mugello’s one for the Yamahas who want to get a good result and coming back to the podium.
4th time for Andrea Dovizioso, first Ducati and first rider going over the 1.41, with the Italian having three tenths of a second of gap from FP1 leader; Andrea is followed by Takaaki Nakagami, who seems to be fast also at Catalunya, while Jack Miller is just behind.
Alex Rins ended in 7th with 1.41.142 ahead of Franco Morbidelli and Valentino Rossi: 9 time world champion, after a disaster weekend in his home grand prix, started this one in a better way and he is surely aiming for a top 10 spot in combined times to avoid Q1. Actually, last spot for the direct access to Q2 is taken by Aleix Espargaro.
