French Gp | Frenchman Fabio Quartararo leads the way in Sunday morning warm-up
SRT Yamaha's Fabio Quartararo set the fastest lap in warm-up session ahead of pole sitter Marc Marquez at Le Mans
More than half of the session belonged to the SRT Yamaha riders, who exchanged fastest lap times one after the other.
With almost seven minutes remaining in the session KTM’s Pol Espargaro went fastest, but Quartarao was fast enough to snatch back the lead quickly and improving his lap times in successive laps.
As the session ended Fabio’s last moment charge of 1:32.483s was enough to top him the session and ward of Marquez’s last-minute attempt by 0.142s.
Espargaro after momentarily topping the time sheets settled on third, ahead of Cal Crutchlow of LCR Honda. Maverick Vinales who crashed at Turn 3, ending his session early. managed a lap good enough for fifth fastest.
Top Ducati was of Andrea Dovizioso who ended the session sixth fastest, 0.525s behind the leader. Morbidelli secured the seventh spot.
Starting the race from front row Jack Miller and Danilo Petrucci managed only eighth and ninth fastest times respectively while Valentino Rossi completed the top Ten.
Jorge Lorenzo in other factory Honda had a lonely session at P15 behind Alex RIns whose teammate Joan Mir face planted twice in the session. Other rider to crash was Tito Rabat.
