Spaniard from SpeedUp after being really close to be out of Q2 gets the pole position despite a crash thanks to a great lap ahead of Tom Luthi and Alex Marquez

Moto2 qualifying started in wet conditions with a thrilling Q1 in which Luca Marini was out for just 0.012s. It was Tom Luthi who got the fastest time ahead for the rookie Jake Dixon, who has been really quick in this conditons also in the morning.

Last two spots were taken by Tulovic and Jorge Navarro, with the first one who won the head to head with Luca Marini, who was out of Q2 for just 0.012s; not the ideal situation for the Sky VR46 rider who did not a great start of the season and he is struggling a lot.

After being so close to hell, Jorge Navarro started Q2 as quick as he can and he was able to perform a stunning lap before crashing which let him conquering pole position in 1.49.055. The Spaniard ended the day crashing at turn 8 and same happened for Tom Luthi, who is second after a crash which anticipated the end of his session.

First row is closed by Alex Marquez who was not able to improve his lap time after his 4th lap; behind him Mattia Pasini, with the italian crashed after his best lap as well, ahead of Xavi Vierge who got a late 5th position and Andrea Locatelli, who was consistent overall.

Champioship leader Lorenzo Baldassarri is 7th after being really slow for the most of the session but he did well during the last minutes on avoiding the chance of starting from behind; the Italian is followed by Brad Binder and rookie Tulovic, with Schrotter closing top 10.
