Moto3 riders had to face a really tricky qualifying in a Saturday started with the rain. Track was wet in the morning but then it has dried hour past hour and teams had to setup again the bikes for dry conditions as long as everyone had to go with slick tyres.

In Q1 someone lost a lot of time due to this process and the fastest rider were John McPhee, Marcos Ramirez, Makar Yurchenko and Sergio Garcia. Not the ideal conditions for the guys but everyone had to adapt really fast to the new asphalt and this fours were more capable than the others, while Alonso Lopez and Celestino Vietti were not able to pass into Q2; same for Jaume Masia, who did not find the confidence to be fast.

Q2 started so with riders who had to go with slick in a track that was minute after minute improving with lap times being better lap after lap. John McPhee was the best on interpretating the asphalt and got the pole position, snatching it from Tony Arbolino, who was really fast during the whole session but not enough to get the best time.

First row also for Ai Ogura in a good weekend overall for him, while Tatsuki Suzuki is 4th and half of a second slower than poleman. Behind him we have Gabriel Rodrigo and Marcos Ramirez, with the Spaniard who has been helped surely from doing Q1 on getting immediatly the rhythm.

Despite a crash, Niccolò Antonelli is 7th and not disappointed after all, with Raul Fernandez and Kaito Toba closing the third row. Not the best qualifying for Andrea Migno after being fast on Friday and in Saturday FP3 too, but at the end he was able to put his bike in 11th position behind Sergio Garcia and ahead of Makar Yurchenko.

Surely Fenati, Canet and Dalla Porta will not be happy with the result, but Le Mans usually helped riders that started from behind on coming back to the top. Romano is 13th, with Aron and Lorenzo following him in 14th and 15th.
