Silverstone circuit to be resurfaced in June
After the disaster of last MotoGP Gran Prix in August in which every race was cancelled due to rain, Silverstone is planning something to avoid this to happen again
( palabras)
Everyone should remember what happened in the last MotoGP British Grand Prix in Silverstone, when rain stopped every races.
Asphalt was not good enough to drain the water and the organizers were forced to cancel the event of August, which did not make anyone happy at all.
Everyone tried everything to save at least the main event, that was MotoGP race, by the moment in which it was a predictable disaster.
On Saturday, indeed, track was not safe enough due to rain which caused many accidents, including Tito Rabat's one which costed him the entire season.
Silverstone's organizers tried so to anticipate MotoGP race at 12:30 CET to avoid the rain, but it was not enough, because it started to rain just at that time, forcing the races cancellation.
One year after, things are looking better, as long as Silverstone Circuit is about to be resurfaced on June 10th, with a new team: Tarmac and Dromo will be the companies which are going to do the job, the same that did a lot of work in Mugello, Termas, Imola and Misano.
Over that, Silverstone confirmed that will host MotoGP until 2021.
