Marc Marquez makes it a seventh pole in a row at COTA as he puts in a 2.03.787 to take top spot ahead of Valentino Rossi.

In Q1, it was Jorge Lorenzo who topped the session along with Danilo Petrucci as they both progressed into Q2. The shock of the session was that Andrea Dovizioso just missed out on making it through to battle for pole position.

Pol Espargaro did a fantastic job to get his KTM into fifth place ahead of Maverick Vinales who completes the second row of the grid.

Alex Rins heads the third row with Petrucci and Fabio Quartararo alongside the Suzuki man.

Franco Morbidelli starts in 10th with Lorenzo 11th and Pecco Bagnaia in 12th.

Dovizioso will start 13th and the fifth row of the grid with Joan Mir and Takaaki Nakagami for company.

Aleix Espargaro will start in 16th place with his teammate Andrea Iannone just behind and rookie Miguel Oliveira completes the sixth row of the grid.
