Marquez takes seventh pole position in a row at COTA
Marc Marquez continues his domination in Austin as he starts in pole position for tomorrow's race. Valentino Rossi and Cal Crutchlow start alongside the Spaniard on the front row.
Marc Marquez makes it a seventh pole in a row at COTA as he puts in a 2.03.787 to take top spot ahead of Valentino Rossi.
In Q1, it was Jorge Lorenzo who topped the session along with Danilo Petrucci as they both progressed into Q2. The shock of the session was that Andrea Dovizioso just missed out on making it through to battle for pole position.
As Q2 results came in, it was Rossi that was the closest to the pole man and he starts on the middle of the first row with Cal Crutchlow starting in third place.
Jack Miller starts tomorrow’s race in fourth place and was top Ducati in the session.
Pol Espargaro did a fantastic job to get his KTM into fifth place ahead of Maverick Vinales who completes the second row of the grid.
Alex Rins heads the third row with Petrucci and Fabio Quartararo alongside the Suzuki man.
Franco Morbidelli starts in 10th with Lorenzo 11th and Pecco Bagnaia in 12th.
Dovizioso will start 13th and the fifth row of the grid with Joan Mir and Takaaki Nakagami for company.
Aleix Espargaro will start in 16th place with his teammate Andrea Iannone just behind and rookie Miguel Oliveira completes the sixth row of the grid.
Johann Zarco starts 19th, Karel Abraham 20th and Hafizh Syahrin 21st. Tito Rabat completes the grid in 22nd place.
