MotoGP | Dovizioso tops the FP2 ahead of of Miller
With his late attempt in the session it was Dovizioso who topped the FP2 by just 0.009s from his fellow Ducati rider Jack Miller
For most the FP2 session, it was FP1 pace setter Marquez who remained on top of the timesheets with his 1m39.497s beating his morning time by almost 4 tenths.
But later in the session he decided not to put on fresh soft rubber which resulted in him slipping behind first Cal Crutchlow then Miller and eventually ended the session at P8.
With four minutes left in the session LCR Honda rider Cal Crutchlow showed his pace by slotting his bike ahead of Marquez’s benchmark time but Jack Millers’ 1m39.190s piped him to P2.
After crashing earlier in the session at T13 Dovizioso late charge put him on top of the timesheets from P17.
Late attempt from Maverick Vinales also put his Yamaha at P3 ahead of Cal Crutchlow by juts 0.001s.
Behind Vinales was other Yamaha of Fabio Quartararo separated by just 0.012s and a tenth ahead of The Doctor in second works Yamaha.
Alex Rins finished P7 for Suzuki ahead of Marc Marquez and the second Petronas Yamaha of Franco Morbidelli. Takaaki Nakagami in LCR Honda completed the top 10, which were only separated by only half a second.
Aprilia riders were P11 and P12 ahead of Pramac Ducatis’s Danilo Petrucci. Lorenzo again had a troubled session and finished at P21 almost a second off the pace.
