Mercedes: Lewis Hamilton scores 87 laps, Bottas stops after 7 laps
The Silver Arrows started the second week of testing in Barcelona with a brand new aero package. If the first week went by without flaws, today the Brackley team had to face their first issues in the afternoon.

Most of rumors, during the first week of testing, were about Mercedes: why are they not scoring fastest lap times? Why are they hiding?
The truth is that Mercedes, as they did last year, did their job every day, as scheduled: Valtteri Bottas and Lewis Hamilton completed all the tasks requested by their engineers, with a "basic" W10, in order to test every mechanic part and set ups configuration. Today, Mercedes unveiled new aerodynamic solutions, but something wen wrong.

During the afternoon session, though, Valtteri Bottas has been forced to stop his W10 trackside because of a oil pressure issue. The Finn ended his afternoon session scoring only seven laps.
The team decided then to replace the Power Unit, ending their work on track earlier than expected.
Despite this issue, the Mercedes powered team all scored together a total of 1355 km.
"We got through our run programme and the car was feeling reletively good." Said Hamilton about the new aero package. "It was an improvement from last week which is a good step.
"The tyres are also working better. We have to keep pushing."
If Hamilton was happy about his day, the same can not be said about his team mate, as he spent his afternoon in the garage "after four days of flawless reliability last week."
"I'm glad I still got to do a few laps," continued the Finn, "the team did a really good job to get the car out again. It was important to have a bit of a feel for the new aero package."
Lewis Hamilton did not score a particularly fast time, 1.20.332s was his best, while the fastest time scored by Lando Norris was a 1.17.709s.
