Daniil Kvyat can celebrate his Formula 1 comeback with Toro Rosso as he put himself in front on winter tests day 3. Kvyat’s performance came almost out of nowhere and it has been the highlight of the afternoon, as it arrived just 15 minutes before the end of the day - when everyone thought the day would end with Raikkonen on top. Toro Rosso set to come back on track with a couple of runs with softest Pirelli C5, beating Kimi Raikkonen’s late morning time by just 58 thousandths of a second. The Russian completed 137 laps today, only one less than Raikkonen. Alfa Romeo’s driver was the only other who tried C5 compound for a couple laps, as the Finn was first to get under the 1:18s in the morning. Third place for Daniel Ricciardo with Renault in 1:18.164, as he finally managed to complete a pretty decent mileage today with 80 laps.

Sebastian Vettel and Ferrari SF90 confirmed their good shape with 134 laps as they went fourth in 1:18.350 with C3 compound. Furthermore, this morning Vettel has set a time of 1:18.614 with harder Pirelli C2, a very remarkable performance. Red Bull is fifth with Max Verstappen, as he covered a distance of 109 laps. Mercedes was most active team with 182 laps, as Bottas did 88 and Hamilton the remaining 94. The silver arrows are still into long runs and haven’t tried softer compounds yet, as they temporarily stand at the bottom of the classification. Anyway, Lewis Hamilton already admitted that Ferrari looks very strong right now and in a better position than last year.

It was also Williams Racing debut day, as they finally managed to get the car on track in the afternoon when George Russell completed 23 laps. A very hard day also for Haas F1 Team which caused three red flags for as many reliability problems on the car. The Haas VF-19 stopped on track in the late morning with Pietro Fittipaldi as well as Romain Grosjean had a stop just after lunch break and another five minutes before the end of the session. Nonetheless, the American team was able to complete 118 laps with the two drivers combined in day 3.
