Ferrari still seems like the car to beat in the second morning of testing in Barcelona. All eyes were on Leclerc’s debut with Ferrari and he didn’t disappoint expectations as he immediately took his SF90 on top. Charles Leclerc set his fastest lap in 1:18.247, less than a hundred of a second slower than Sebastian Vettel’s best from yesterday morning. The Scuderia followed a similar program in day 2, as they hit the track for long runs with both Pirelli C2 and C3 compounds, completing 73 laps.

Second fastest was Haas’ Kevin Magnussen, who set his time five minutes before the chequered flag. Third was Antonio Giovinazzi with a 1:19.312 on his Alfa Romeo Racing. The Italian driver took immediate confidence with his new car as he ran 62 laps in his Formula 1 comeback. Lando Norris was fourth with an interesting 1:19.489 with Pirelli C2 tyres, as the first three drivers in the chart all found their time with softer C3 compounds. McLaren seems to be in quite a better position than last year, when they experienced a lot of reliability problems with the new car and Renault engine. Fifth place for Pierre Gasly who completed 69 laps for Red Bull Honda.

Lewis Hamilton was the busiest driver on track this morning with 73 laps, one more than Charles Leclerc. Mercedes driver and five time world champion was just seventh, as the silver arrows continued their program without searching lap times. Hamilton’s 1:19.928 was just a few hundredth before Daniel Ricciardo, as the Honey Badger only ran 28 laps due to a rear wing failure.

The only red flag was caused by Alexander Albon, who spun with his Toro Rosso during his first installation lap in the early morning, in a similar way of what happened yesterday to Kimi Raikkonen.
