Season 2019: pre-season events
There is less than two months before the start of the new season. And before the first Grand Prix in Australia, the teams and drivers have to take part in a few pre-season events like car presentations, pre-season tests in Barcelona and official opening event in Melbourne.
Traditionally, the new season for teams starts with cars presentations. This year official F1 presentations begins already in a week, on February 11. Toro Rosso is going to be the first team to present its car. Next day there will be the turn of Renault, and the third in this list is Mercedes. Also, in one day with Mercedes Racing Point (ex. Force India) is going to show its car, however, according to many rumors, the team will present only new name and colors.
Also, it’s expected two teams – Haas and Alfa Romeo Racing (ex. Sauber) – will present their cars on the first day of the tests in Barcelona on February 18. Moreover, there is a possibility that Alfa Romeo will bring a new car to the track for the first time before the presentation: during the shooting day, which will be held in Fiorano on February 14.
The full list of F1 teams presentations:
11/2 Toro Rosso
12/2 Renault

15/2 Ferrari

The next and extremely important stage for the teams will be pre-season tests, which will be held from 18 to 21 February and the second session - from 26 February to 1 March. In Barcelona, the team will test and customize their cars and most importantly, work with tyres. By the way, this year Pirelli will completely change the marking of its tyres.
As compared to the season 2018, when Pirelli presented seven different compounds of tyres, there will be five in 2019. For their identification Pirelli will use three colors: the hardest ones will have the white markings, medium – yellow, and soft - red. In Barcelona, Pirelli will mark all five compounds with only three colors. There will be two hard "white" compounds and two soft "red". The toughest tyres (analog of last year's Hard) will have just white logos Pirelli and P Zero without curved lines, the same principle of marking will be on the softest tyres with red logos (analog of last year's HyperSoft).
Another event before the start of the season will be held for the first time in Formula 1 history. This year Liberty Media decided to hold the official opening of the Formula 1 season. The 70th anniversary Formula 1 world championship will begin with an opening ceremony at Federation Square in Melbourne on March 13, two days before the start of the Australian Grand Prix weekend.
All the F1 drivers and teams will participate in the opening, as well as the famous Formula 1 drivers of the past years. In addition to meeting with the idols there will be a big concert program in Melbourne.
