Mercedes supremacy has been clear from Friday in Suzuka, and Ferrari's mistake has comprimised the few chances to start from the 2nd row. Kimi Raikkonen managed to grab the 4th  position, while Sebastian Vettel will start from the 9th spot on the grid.

Max Verstappen will start right behind the Pole Man Lewis Hamilton, who will start first for the 80th time in his career. Bad day for Daniel Ricciardo, who, thanks to some flames coming from his RB14's exhaust, will start 15th, and all the Pit Lane heard how frustated the Aussie driver was.

If Ricciardo is dealing with Renault's PU issues, Max Verstappen can only celebrate Toro Rosso and Honda's big result in their home GP, as Brendon Hartley and Pierre Gasly qualified, respectively, 6th and 7th.

Pirelli has brought three types of compounds for the Japanese Grand Prix, white Medium, yellow Soft, red SuperSoft. Here's which compounds every driver still has available for the race.

Pirelli also revealed the quickest strategy for the race:

TWO EQUALLY QUICKEST STRATEGIES ONE-STOPPER: 1 stint on soft for 25 laps + 1 stint on medium to the flag

and also

ONE-STOPPER: 1 stint on medium for 28 laps + 1 stint on soft to the flag

QUITE CLOSE ONE-STOPPER: 1 stint on supersoft for 20 laps + 1 stint on medium to the flag

SLOWER TWO-STOPPER: 1 stint on supersoft for 14 laps + 2 stints on soft (19+20 laps)
