F1 | Monaco GP | McLaren bring the Senna logo back to Formula 1
McLaren has announced that from this weekend onwards, their cars will permanently carry the iconic Senna logos, which were once on all Williams cars from 1995 until the team dropped the tradition in the winter of this year.
The Senna name will return to Formula 1 after McLaren announced that they would carry the legendary driver's logos on the car from the Monaco Grand Prix weekend onwards.
The Brazilian, who drove for the team for six years and won three World championships for them, previously had his logos on every Williams car from 1995 onwards as a mark of respect to Senna after his death at the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix. However, at the start of the year, the team announced that they had decided to end the tradition.
However, on the eve of the first Practice session for this weekend's Monaco Grand Prix team, team boss Zak Brown announced that the logos would come back to the Formula 1 fold on a permanent basis. The logos will appear on the team's MCL36 after receiving the blessing of the Senna family.
