F1 | Miami GP | Stroll "Enjoyed" Qualifying After Securing P10 Ahead of Sunday's Race
Lance Stroll qualified in Q3 for the first Miami Grand Prix while teammate Sebastian Vettel qualified P13.
Lance Stroll set the quickest time in the early phases of qualifying with a 1.31.787 lap after continuing to assess tyre performance in FP3.
Throughout the 18-minute session, he refined his speed, and with continuous improvements on his second and third runs, he produced a 1.30.441 tour to advance to Q2.
Stroll made his debut in the second round of qualifying, finishing inside the top ten, and played an important role in the fight to proceed to the pole position shootout.
The Canadian improved by over four tenths on his opening run of the quarter, a 1.30.363 lap, to clinch a spot in Q3, finishing Q2 in seventh overall.
We'll take that. 👊

When asked post qualifying, how enjoyable the car was during the session in comparison to all the other sessions. Stroll comments, "yeah, it was enjoyable."
"Q3 was a little different, it’s good to get the car into Q3, but you know, we’re very slow in Q3, we’re good in Q2, but if we had the same performance we had in Q3, we would’ve been out in Q1 so, I think it’s unpredictable and we have to understand why we’re fast in one and slower in another run.
When asked about being up and down from session to session, going from Q2 to Q3 and being able to find the "sweet spot" in terms of tyre temperature. Stroll comments, "I guess… Maybe… To be honest I have no idea… We have to look into that [tyre temperature] we could be six-tenths up or down it’s very difficult to understand why it’s so up and down like that."
