The Saudi Arabian Grand Prix has now come to an end and has been the most exciting of the two that have already been held throughout the season. One-time world champion, Max Verstappen, managed to beat Charles Leclerc after an intense wheel-to-wheel duel between the Dutchman and the Monegasque. We witnessed an epic duel where not only did these two drivers demonstrate their skills behind the steering wheel, but also the intelligence of these two drivers was noted. The Jeddah circuit is the fastest street circuit that Formula 1 has raced on in its entire history, with cars reaching speeds of over 350 kilometres per hour. The DRS forms a fundamental part of the battles between the drivers, since if the driver manages to overtake on the straight that goes from turn 26 to 27, the driver who has just been overtaken will be able to activate the DRS on the main straight, which goes from turn 27 to turn 1. Without a doubt the biggest winner of this Grand Prix was the Dutch driver, but today we will talk about the French AlphaTauri driver, Pierre Gasly.

The French driver managed to finish the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in eighth position, 62.946 seconds behind the leader (Max Verstappen). The AlphaTauri driver had quite a lonely race, with some battles with some drivers like Daniel Ricciardo, Lando Norris, Kevin Magnussen's Haas, and even the Alpine of Esteban Ocon and two-time world champion Fernando Alonso. However, just as happened to Sergio “Checo” Perez, Pierre Gasly was also affected by the deployment of the Safety Car after Nicholas Latifi's accident, since Gasly had pitted a lap earlier. In addition to this, Gasly commented that it has been the most difficult race he has had to run, and not in sports terms, but in health. The French driver suffered from a lot of pain in his abdomen, so much so that he has classified the last 15 laps as if he was being 'stabbed'.

“I must say I am really happy. It was very unlucky timing with the pitstop, when we boxed, as soon as I came out of the pits, I saw the Safety car came out, so I dropped to 14th.” Gasly commented regarding his Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

“We managed to make our way back to P8, so yeah, I think we can be happy and, on my side, it’s been the most painful last 15 laps of my career.”

“I don’t know what’s happened with my intestine, but I was dying inside the car. I was screaming because of pain and just happy the race is done, and we managed to secure P8.”

“I feel like every left turn someone was stabbing me on the inside, on my intestine, so it was not nice. I’ve seen him [a doctor] already, we’ll see after. I don’t know what it is. We’ll see what’s happened.”

With some reliability problems, AlphaTauri is in seventh place with a total of 8 points in the Constructors’ Championship, while Pierre is twelfth in the drivers' championship with 4 points. The next Grand Prix will be in Melbourne, Australia, where a good performance is expected from the two drivers of the Italian team, Yuki Tsunoda and Pierre Gasly.
