The spreading of the Internet and its prepotent arrival into our lives helped the spreading of cyberbullying. If when we were kids, we were bullied at school but could co back at home, when you are being bullied online, it never stops and does not give you peace. Sadly, the possibility to hide your face makes easier to write everything that comes to your mind, even the evilest things.

To protect the victims who suffered from cyberbullying, Williams’s driver Nicholas Latifi enters The Cybersmile Foundation as their official ambassador. It is an international company with several important figures as ambassador which aims to keep the internet a safe place, in which we are free to share our thoughts without any fear and in compete respect of each other.

I’m proud to be supporting the great work that The Cybersmile Foundation is doing on an international scale, - Latifi says. - My own personal experience of online abuse was unpleasant and unsettling, but I’m one of the lucky ones that has a strong support network of family and friends around me

The Williams driver has indeed faced cyberbullying at the end of the last season, when his incident caused the restart of the race in Abu Dhabi, helping Verstappen to win the title and consequently “stealing” it from Hamilton. The fans have abused him in many ways over his social accounts, including death threats.

“There are lots of people that often have to face cyberbullying and online abuse alone, or don’t have the knowledge of how to effectively deal with a situation and regain control. For me, that’s a situation that has to change. I’m determined to do what I can to help – especially around efforts to promote kindness, diversity and inclusion.”- he continues.

“We’re super excited to announce Nicholas as a Cybersmile ambassador and to start making a real impact together, - the CEO of The Cybersmile Foundation Scott Freeman points out. – I know Nicholas is really passionate about the power and importance of kindness and empathy online, and he speaks authentically from his own personal experience. Cybersmile offer a range of services to help prevent problems online as well as help people deal with them should they occur. We are excited to work with Nicholas to help support our mission and raise awareness of the help available to those affected.”
