12th March 1947, a car drives through the historic factory gates of via Abetone in Maranello and heads towards Formigine. Behind the wheel, firing up the V12 engine of the prototype - still without a body- for the first time, is Enzo Ferrari.

The car will become the 125 S, the very first Ferrari racing car produced in Maranello, with the prancing horse appearing for the first time on the yellow background we know today.

75 years later, Ferrari’s 68th Formula 1 car will race in the 2022 championship with an eye looking back to where it all began: the new single seater will be called F1-75.

“Formula One, with its spirit of competition and innovation, has always been a fundamental part of Ferrari, driving the technological development of our road cars,” said Ferrari Chairman John Elkann.

“This year, as we celebrate the 75th anniversary of our first production car leaving the factory, we honour that spirit by naming our 2022 F1 challenger the Ferrari F1-75.”

The F1-75 will be launched online on 17th February at 14 CET. While to see it out on track we will have to wait for winter testing on 10th March in Bahrain, as the first pre-season test in Barcelona on 23rd February will be held behind closed doors and will get no television coverage.
