22-year-old Lando Norris has never hid that he struggled with mental health since after his arrival in F1. Indeed the McLaren driver, in his first races had some terrible moments thinking that his lack of performance could have affected the decisions of his team regarding his seat.

Norris, sought help from his loved ones and people who surrounded him, in order to make all his insecurities and the pressure of being a grand prix driver disappear.

He always seemed very dedicated to the mental health topic to the point he now is a role model for all the people in his fanbase who have been struggling or still struggle with mental health.

The young driver, also explained how talking with others about his problems helped not just him but also many other people around him.

Indeed he said: “ I’m happy I’ve helped many people who were struggling with my same problem. I don’t think this is negative. I’m followed everywhere and a lot of people watch me, whatever I do. Speaking about these things is certainly going to help."

Norris also received feedback from his fans worldwide. At first he did not talk about this topic publicly, but when he realised the huge impact he was having in his fans lives he became more aware of the power he had and how many people he could help.

“Before I was even speaking about it publicly, a few of my fans were saying how much it was helping them and the impact that I could have on them.

“When I started to get messages of me helping them out, making them feel better or their friends or family, it was a pretty amazing thing to see.

“The more I saw that, the more I realized the impact I could have and the place that I am with F1 in my life. With the followers I have, the fanbase I have it means a bigger impact. At this point I understood how much speaking about it publicly and worldwide would have helped as many people as possible.”
