F1 | Sir Lewis Hamilton is officially knighted at a ceremony at Windsor Castle
After missing his 8th world title, Hamilton was honored by the Royal Family in Windsor this Wednesday morning.
The conclusion of the 2021 championship is still fresh on every F1 person’s mind, as Max Verstappen took the title on a breathtaking finale of season at Abu Dhabi over Lewis Hamilton.
Or more precisely, Sir Lewis Hamilton.
Three days after ending the 2021 Formula 1 season, the Briton was officially knighted by the Royal Family in a ceremony on Wednesday morning at the Windsor Castle in England from Charles Prince of Wales.

The 36-year-old receives this honor being the most successful driver in Formula 1’s history and after narrowly missing on an 8th championship on Sunday.
The official ceremony of the driver’s knighthood took place after he was named in the 2021 New Year Honours list. Therefore, Sir Lewis Hamilton joins an exclusive group of knighted F1 drivers, with Sir Stirling Moss, Sir Jack Brabham, and Sir Jackie Stewart.

Hamilton will attend the FIA Prize Giving Ceremony in Paris on Thursday.
