The Circuit is going to speak Spanish in May, at least for five more years. Formula 1 did sign a multi-year deal with the Catalan track that confirms the Spanish GP to stay there until 2026.

Part of the deal, though, comprehend some actions that the Spanish circuit will have to go through in order to improve before the next event, that is planned on May 22 in the next season. It has to adjust the track to suit an always more sustainable sport and implement some new track facilities.

“We are delighted to announce this deal with Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya” - F1 President and CEO Stefano Domenicali said when talking about the confirmation of the track staying in the calendar for a long time.

“I want to thank the promoter and the authorities for their enthusiasm and commitment to keeping Formula 1 in Barcelona, with improvements that will be made to the track and facilities, and continuing our long history together.”

Barcelona has indeed being hosting Formula 1 at his track since 1991, when the Circus firstly tried the track in occasion of the Summer Olympics of 1992 that were going to take place in the Catalan city. Spanish public has always been very interested in the major Formula, especially since Fernando Alonso show up in early 2000s. The Formula 1 family has also been appreciating the track and the city, as both drivers and teams cannot wait to go back there.

The teams and drivers always look forward to racing at the circuit and visiting Barcelona, and the Spanish fans will continue to see their national heroes, Fernando Alonso and Carlos Sainz up close.” – Domenicali added. Let’s keep saying “hola” to F1, then.
