As the Qatar GP comes to an end, Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc, reflects on the hard weekend he had, despite his good result in the end. During Saturday’s qualifying session, Leclerc’s chassis suffered some damages and the brilliant work of Scuderia Ferrari’s mechanics during the night, made possible to avoid the Pit Lane start as they completed the work before the Parc Fermé regime started.

In the end the Monegasque managed to end his weekend in P8, right behind his team-mate Carlos Sainz who ended in P7.

The two drivers took to the Maranello’s team, some important points for the championship, as they now extended the gap with McLaren for the third place in the Constructors Championship.

Despite the good effort, Leclerc does not feel completely satisfied and soon after the race commented: “I don’t feel completely happy with that P8. But if we analyse our situation, considering my pace on Saturday, the pace with hard today was pretty good. So I’m happy on this side. On the other side, we have to work, to understand what happened with the chassis during yesterday’s qualifying”.

He also commented: “ The gap we expected to have from Red Bull and Mercedes, was what we actually had in the ed. But I’m quite surprised with the performances of some midfield teams like AlphaTauri and Alpine. They were very strong this weekend. This was a very bad surprise and we have to understand why it happened”.
