Six laps of hard-fought battle with the Alpine drivers ended with Gasly achieving 7th place after making excellent passes on both.

Gasly was able to gain position on Vettel by starting on the medium tyre compound and taking advantage of the safety car periods. On this hot track, tyre deterioration was substantial, therefore a two-stop race was the fastest choice for us at the moment.

Gasly coments, "I’m really happy, it’s been a very intense race, but I think we can be pleased with today."
He adds, "There were some really nice battles, with Daniel and Seb, then at the end of the race with the Alpines."
He continues, "It was so fun to be racing with them, as we don’t often get to do that in F1."
He concludes, "It was of course hard, but today we finished in the best position we could, behind the top three teams, and that’s the most important thing, as we continue our fight for fifth.”
Well earned points today!! Great battles, enjoyed some good racing!! That was fun!! P7 was the best we could do today. We won’t stop fighting, next Quatar. Obrigado Brasil for the continuous & amazing support, always awesome to come here.🇧🇷💛 pic.twitter.com/E04kGcmAGF
