A lot of pressure is felt by Antonio Giovinazzi. The Italian driver in fact does not have a contract for next year, and in the last few races, he seemed a bit worried about that.

Giovinazzi’s seat is in fact in doubt and in the past weeks, some other names appeared on the list of Alfa Romeo for next season. The hard-working mentality and constancy of the Italian driver didn’t disappear and as he declared after the US GP, he is doing everything in his power to score some points and show that he is the right teammate for the new entry in the Alfa Romeo team, the Finn Valtteri Bottas who currently drives for Mercedes, and will replace his fellow Finn at Alfa, Kimi Raikkonen.

Soon after the race last Sunday, Antonio Giovinazzi declared: “It was okay, P11. Just out of the top ten. We lost quite a lot of time in the second stint with the medium tyres and we don’t know why; we need to understand why because this is why we didn't score points. Sebastian [Vettel] was a little bit faster than us, disappointed but looking forward to the next one.”

He also was the protagonist of a pretty good battle with the World Champion, Fernando Alonso, and as he said “It was a good one, but it was in the second stint when I was really struggling with the tyres. But it was a good one with him, we had good battles and fighting with a world champion is always nice.”

The battle ended with Giovinazzi having to give back the position to Alonso as the stewards decided he kept his position going off track, despite Alonso pushing him out there: “In the end, they decided. I don’t think it was completely fair but we need to respect the decision.”

The only true desire of the Italian driver right now seems to be scoring some points before the season ends as he said: “I want to score points. For the last two races, we're P11, missed them by just one position, but yes, I just want to score some points.”

Giving a general look at his race, Giovinazzi declared: “I always like to race here at the Circuit of the Americas. There is a long straight. It’s a very good track and we need to understand how we can improve here, but for sure it’s a great place to fight in.”
