F1 | Horner says Red Bull will “Go to church” to prepare for the remainder of the season
Red Bull team principal Christian Horner jokes the team will “go to church” in preparation for the many unknowns in the remaining six Grands Prix
With the end of the 2021 Formula 1 season drawing ever closer, Red Bull’s Max Verstappen has regained a slim lead of drivers’ championship rival Lewis Hamilton. With just six races remaining, Verstappen leads by six points, while Red Bull trail Mercedes by thirty-six in the constructors’ championship.
Of the remaining six races, the Qatar GP in Losail International Circuit and the Saudi Arabian GP are both new to the calendar, while the familiar Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi has seen updates to turns 7, 11 and 13.

When quizzed on how Red Bull plans to prepare for the unknowns of the remaining races, Horner quipped: “We go to church every other Sunday and see what happens.”
"We will do our simulation, do our homework and we will do the best job that we can,” he continued.
"We will do as much research as we can into the venues and go from there. We have got to take it one race at a time.
"We have maximised points at tracks that Mercedes have been incredibly strong at, the last three venues, so that has been a positive."

In what has been an exciting and closely fought season, affected by weather, on track incidents and other unforeseen circumstances, Horner is prepared for more variables to affect the remaining races.
"I think one of the great things of the season has been the variance of winners that we have had," he said.
"It seems a shame to change it for next year really. There is probably going to be some random effects coming up.
"Again, engine penalties can play a role, will play a role at future races and weather can be a key factor as well. It is going to be fascinating to see how it all pans out over the next two months."
