Lando Norris reconfirmed his talent also on the Monegasque circuit: with his McLaren, for the occasion "dressed" in the historic Gulf livery, he set the fifth best time in qualifying with only two tenths of a delay from the pole position, conquered by Charles Leclerc.

In today's race, thanks to the DNS of the Ferrari driver, due to a gearbox problem, and to the unsuccessful pitstop of Valtteri Bottas that forced him to retire, Lando Norris managed to hold the third position with a clean drive and a quick car, celebrating on the podium next to former teammate Carlos Sainz and winner Max Verstappen.

"There are some very positive things we can look forward to today, but we have to reset and go again in Baku," Seidl, McLaren Team Principal stated to Motorlat and other selected media.

He commented on the livery that McLaren chose to use during this weekend in Monaco. The team from has chosen to race at the "coolest" Formula 1 GP of the season with a special livery characterized by its classic orange, combined with the blue of the sponsor Gulf Oil, a partnership that began in 1968 and is still one of the most successful in the world of motorsport.

"On the livery i'd say that it's a one-off livery livery at the moment, made for this iconic race and to celebrate the historic partnership with Gulf that goes back to the sixties." Seidl said.

"That's all I can say at the moment in terms of future plans," he added.

McLaren during this weekend proved to performing strongly in the slow speed corners of Monaco as well, not only in the straights, and when asked if the team will bring a rigid rear wing in Baku or other updates, Seidl answered laughing:

"You mentioned that now, not me!"

"What's incouraging for us to see it's that it looks like we have a car that's competitive on a lot of kind of tracks, which puts us in a good position to do well and try to fight for that P3 this year with Ferrari," he stated.

He mentioned what is the most important goal of the English team, which is fighting for third place in the constructors' championship with Ferrari.

"We are planning to bring updates in the next races, to make sure we stay ahead of the Ferraris. That's the goal for this season, without losing insight on the big task we have to do, which is getting this car ready under the new regulations," he concluded.
