F1 | Monaco GP | Ferrari finish on top in red-flagged FP2
Ferrari able to set both of his drivers in the first two positions after a session who was previously interrupted by a red flag, caused by Mick Schumacher's crash on the barriers.
Monaco Grand Prix’s second free practice session ends up all coloured in red: Ferrari gets the first two positions, with Charles Leclerc in the first place, followed by his teammate Carlos Sainz. The Monegasque track is well-known for its narrow streets and tricky circuit, as it is very easy to commit a mistake and you will not be forgiven. This was the case of two rookies, Toro Rosso’s Yuki Tsunoda and, above all, Mick Schumacher. The German drove his Haas against the barriers and he caused a red flag two minutes before the session could end normally, so the marshals decided to leave the situation just like that

Such a situation worked perfectly for the two Prancing Horse single seaters who already showed off during the first session and who were known to be favourites on this track for their configuration. Lewis Hamilton had to get setted with a third place. This performance was an improvement, considering how the Briton’s Silver Arrow went in the morning. Morever, the seven-time world champion finished ahead of Max Verstappen for a tiny distance. As for Red Bull’s top driver, he got a fourth position. The Dutchman was stopped in the Monegasque traffic, and this gave voice of his old problems, as we remember him not feeling so at ease on the track of the city he lives in.
The other Mercedes, the one driven by Valtteri Bottas finished only fifth, followed by a great Lando Norris, who seems to be in a great shape after yesterday’s announcement of his renewal with McLaren. Pierre Gasly brought his Toro Rosso in a good seventh position, ahead of Sergio Perez’ Red Bull, who had a though session after finishing in first place in the first FP’s session.
Antonio Giovinazzi made it to get an excellent ninth position for his Alfa Romeo, followed up by Sebastian Vettel’s Aston Martin.
Sunday’s race is going to be very interesting, with old top teams who come back on top, World Champions who seem to struggle and young stars who cannot decide to shine bright: Monaco, how we missed you!
