F1 | Two positive COVID-19 tests reported at Aston Martin
RaceFans has reported two positive COVID-19 tests from the Silverstone-based team at the end of Media Day for the Bahrain Grand Prix.
During the 2020 season marked for Coronavirus global pandemic, Formula 1 found the way to go ahead with racing and put in motion a world championship shaped by 17 racing events.
Although the strict measures followed by personnel surrounding all the Formula 1 bubble, there were several cases rounding the paddock along the year.
Lewis Hamilton was among the drivers that caught the virus while the season was underway. Along with him, the Racing Point team was one of the most affected ones, seeing as its two drivers, Sergio Pérez and Lance Stroll both returned positive COVID-19 test during halfway the 2020 season.
Charles Leclerc, Lando Norris and Pierre Gasly also tested positive during the off-season to take the total number of drivers to six.
Now, the team rebranded as Aston Martin begins its new journey in 2021 with two reported positive COVID-19 tests. According to RaceFans, the team has isolated two members of its staff who have tested positive in Bahrain and everyone is taking all necessary precautions.
Aston Martin will hit the track tomorrow for the first and second Free Practice sessions for the season opener in Bahrain.
