In the last decade, from the consecutive world titles poker won by the German driver Sebastian Vettel, and the 4 constructors' championships, up to the last years full of victories and podiums, the Austrian team has always shown itself to be consistent and full of potential to continue to do well.

Last season's second place in the constructors' championship and Max Verstappen third place in the drivers standing are results that, however, are not enough for RedBull.

Although it is undeniable that the RedBull philosophy goes in the direction of wanting to build its own drivers "at home", it is overcome by the golden rule that inspires any team: to win.

From this point of view, RedBull was extremely lucid in not getting trapped in its comfort zone by trying, through the choice to involve Sergio Perez, to do something that would allow them to win immediately without compromising the future.

And after just three days of testing in Bahrain, they're looking stronger than ever.

“They're looking strong,” said Lewis Hamilton abut RedBull.

“They've had some really good running. Max is looking, and both the drivers I think, have been looking quite strong. They're going to be a different machine or animal this year with, I think, a real good strong line-up of the two drivers, and I think, a really good car".

“Having seen them win the last race, you can only assume they're going to be right there, if not at the front, of the first race. It's going to be a great long battle with them through the year”.

Referring to the issues that have involved Mercedes during these days of testing, a gearbox problem and balance issues hampering its progress, Lewis Hamilton has shown himself confident and convinced that Mercedes is still one of the major forces in the championship, and that also this year the whole team, with hard work and efficiency, will achieve excellent results.

I don't waste time worrying,” - he said - “that deters you from finding the solution, so we are just working hard and focusing on getting through the short amount of testing we have and trying to be as efficient as we possibly can with it"

“I think it's better when it doesn't go smoothly, or it's better that it doesn't go smooth now and goes smooth once we get into the racing scene. So, this is the perfect time for us to find the issues and have the problems, so I welcome that" the 7 times World Champion added.

“I think everyone's just keeping their heads down. No-one is phased by it. We are a multi championship-winning team, and we know how to pull together and keep our head down, and focus on the job".

He was also very surprised by the level of competitiveness of the other teams, which will make this championship much more intense and fun.

"Without doubt, it is quite impressive to see the speed of some of the other teams" he stated.

"I think Red Bull is looking particularly strong. And it's great to see McLaren also looking strong, also Renault [Alpine]. So I'm excited, also, because that means more fun" he concluded.
