F1| Filming day in Barcelona for the new Alfa Romeo C41
Robert Kubica, Alfa Romeo test and reserve driver, was the first to try the new C41 this morning on the spanish track in Montmeló.
Sunny day in Barcelona and first day on track for the new Alfa RomeoRacing ORLEN C41.
The Italian-Swiss team held its first seasonal filming day on the Catalan circuit after the presentation on February 22 in Warsaw, home of the Polish title sponsor Orlen.

The new car tasted the steaming asphalt for the first time this morning, but not with its regular drivers, Antonio Giovinazzi and Kimi Räikkönen, in fact behind the steering wheel of the new single-seater went the Robert Kubica, first polish driver to win a Formula One race in the Canadian Grand Prix in 2008.
He returned in Formula 1, after the bad crash at the Ronde di Andora rally, in 2017 and on 16 January 2018, it was announced that Kubica would become the reserve driver of Williams for the 2018 season.
Last year he joined Alfa Romeo as a reserve and test driver, returning to the team he made his Formula One debut with in 2006, and today he is continuing on this path.
The team is willing to do better than what did last season, and thanks to this "filming day", organized for for promotional purposes and regulated by the International Federation (the cars cannot exceed 100 km and must hit the track with unofficial tyres), had the opportunity to gain some data to analyze in view of the pre-season tests that will be held in Bahrain (12-14 March).

"Setting goals can be limiting, because we want to work hard and improve step by step to reach the center of the grid" the team principal Frederic Vasseur announced during the presentation of the C41.
Alfa Romeo kept the same chassis, designed by Jan Monchaux, Luca Furbatto, Ian Wright and Alessandro Cinelli, and the car will be powered, also this year, by a customer Ferrari engine.
From a technical point of view, a narrower nose is visible on the front side, and on both lateral sides deviators at radiator height.

"The freezing of the regulation didn't allow us to design entirely the new car, the 2021 single-seater has many parts of the C39, beyond where we could work, that is the bottom and the nose, where we spent tokens" said the technical director Jan Monchaux.
"Tests will be essential to verify everything we've improved and try the combination with the new tires. We really can't wait for it to start" he added.
Expectations are high, everyone wants to see the Italian excellence shine, so we just have to see if the work done on the new C41 will be enough for Alfa Romeo to be competitive in the upcoming season, among a lot of merciless competitors on track.
