F1 | Williams completes Silverstone on-track test with 2021 challenger
Williams has completed a shakedown test with its new Formula 1 car ahead of the 2021 season at Silverstone on Wednesday.
Approaching these final days of the offseason, Formula 1 teams are tuning the final details before showing off their competing cars for the 2021 season and heading into pre-season testing.
McLaren is until now, the only team to have launched their 2021 challenger, however, Williams joined the Woking-based team by doing an on-track test before the reveal of its own challenger, at the circuit of Silverstone on Wednesday.

The team and the drivers shared on social media how they were at the circuit, with photos that showed us a dark kit and glimpses of a navy blue livery that might not be the definitive one, as well as cloudy weather. Sticking to the “filming day” rules the new Williams did around 17 laps through Silverstone.
2021 will mark Williams’ first full season under new ownership after the team was acquired by Dorilton Capital in 2020, leading to the departure of the Williams family.
For the new season and under the new management, Williams aim will be also to make an advance in the level of competitiveness and move forward in terms of performance, in which they have been motionless with the low level of efficiency that the car has had since 2018, being penultimate in the rankings and being last in the constructor's championship standings of 2019 and 2020.
The reveal date of the new Williams FW43B is set for March 5th.
