Alfa Romeo and AlphaTauri became the latest teams to fire up their 2021 challengers on Monday as the Swiss and Italian-based squads get ready for the new season.  

It was a season to forget in 2020 for Alfa as they struggled with an uncompetitive package and had the Ferrari engine that was down on power compared to the other manufacturers.  

Both Kimi Räikkönen and Antonio Giovinazzi scored just four points as they finished a lowly 8th in the standings. They did manage to beat their main rivals Haas and Williams in the Constructors' Championship, however.  

With Ferrari designing a completely new engine for 2021 and hoping to claw back some of the horsepower deficit, Räikkönen and Giovinazzi will be hoping to get back in the thick of the midfield fight and get points on a more regular basis.  

Räikkönen and Giovinazzi will be team's line-up for a third consecutive season. The Finn will be taking part in his 19th season in the sport and claimed the record for the most starts in F1 history last year.

After rebranding and becoming AlphaTauri before the 2020 season, it was a memorable first year under that name for the Faenza-based squad. 

Pierre Gasly scored a memorable maiden victory in a wild Italian Grand Prix at Monza when he held off a late charge by McLaren's Carlos Sainz to shock the Formula One world; it was the second win in the team's history following Sebastian Vettel's shock success in the rain at the same venue 12 years earlier.  

Gasly had a strong season overall as he finished P10 in the standings. A strong drive to 5th in Portugal and two 6th place finishes at the Nürburgring and in Bahrain were other standout moments for him. Daniil Kvyat's P4 at Imola was another great day for the team in 2020.  

107 points represented their highest ever points total over the course of an F1 season since they formed in 2006. 

Yuki Tsunoda joins Pierre Gasly at the team this year after the Japanese driver starred in Formula 2 last year.
