F1 | Sakhir GP | Leclerc: “FP2 was also good until the failure on my side”
After zero result Charles Leclerc still satisfied with his second practice and hopes for good Saturday.
The second training session didn’t really happen for Charles. He completed his out lap and then as he set off for a timed run, a halfshaft problem in the second sector meant he had to come back to the garage and he never went out again.
However, despite this, the Monegasque is still happy with the result, because before the technical issues, the car behaved well and driver was happy with its work.
"It was better than expected today. Things were going well until the technical problem at the very beginning of FP2, so hopefully it will be a good day tomorrow. I enjoyed the track with very few corners as it reminds me of the karting days. It’s a nice track and it should be a fun race. With these long straights, whoever is behind will have a big advantage," – Charles said.
Like his teammate Sebastian Vettel, Leclerc foreshadows a difficult qualifying for Ferrari on Saturday, especially the car's performance in Q1 and Q2.
"Finding a gap tomorrow in qualifying will be my main concern. Especially in Q1 and Q2, which could be messy, I think. The car felt good at the beginning of FP2 so I feel confident we are in a good place, but we still need to see the lap times to confirm this."
