F1 | Mick Schumacher joins Haas on a multi-year deal
Haas will gamble on an all-new line up of rookies in 2021.
Mick Schumacher is officially graduating to Formula 1 with Haas on a multi-year deal.
After announcing one half of its all-new line up yesterday, Haas confirmed the arrival of the young German driver. Schumacher currently leads the standings in F2 by 14 points, in the pursuit of winning the title next week at Sakhir.
The son of 7-time F1 World Champion Michael Schumacher is a member of the Ferrari Driver Academy and holds six full seasons of experience in open-wheel racing, from ADAC F4 Germany to FIA F2.
"The prospect of being on the Formula 1 grid next year makes me incredibly happy and I’m simply speechless,” stated Mick Schumacher.
"I would like to thank Haas F1 Team, Scuderia Ferrari and the Ferrari Driver Academy for placing their trust in me. I also want to acknowledge and extend my love to my parents – I know that I owe them everything. I have always believed that I would realize my dream of Formula 1. A huge thank you must also go to all the great motorsport fans out there who have supported me throughout my career. I will give it my all, as I always do, and I look forward to going on this journey together with Haas F1 and them.”
