F1 | Turkish GP | Slippery and wet FP3 hurts Mercedes as Verstappen completes practice clean sweep
Max Verstappen is once again the leader of the Turkish FP3, Leclerc is just behind the Dutchman and Albon is third.
Formula 1’s Turkish Grand Prix confirms its own unpredictability together with some issues in the making of the track.
On Friday, Lewis Hamilton did complain a lot about the asphalt’s conditions as the track is really very slippery and tricky and the third and last session of the free practises did not improve. On the contrary, they are worse than ever, as today’s FP3 have been wet too.
The track was wet and slippery and for the driver it was quite impossible to race as they used to, so the results are quite a surprise.
Red Bull dominated the last session of the free practices. Max Verstappen has been the best to drive in these tricky conditions and he gained once again the first place. His teammate Alex Albon accomplished to gain a third place. In the middle of this Red Bull sandwich there is Charles Leclerc, who managed to exploit his Ferrari to the maximum.
Esteban Ocon made it to gain a positive place, putting his Racing Point in fourth place. Lando Norris did quite a good job too, endind the last session in fifth position.
Ferrari can finally be quite content of today results, not only the Maranello-based team can be proud for Leclerc who’s third but for Sebastian Vettel too, who’s sixth.
Sergio Perez is showing off his right to stay in Formula 1 next year as well ending once again ahead of his teammate Lance Stroll, only tenth.
Don’t we miss anyone? Mercedes is angry and frustrated because Bottas is only eighth while their golden driver Hamilton is last after only completing a couple of install laps.
Another surprise lights up the top ten, as Kevin Magnussen placed his Haas in the ninth position. In a couple of hours, there will be the qualifying. We are looking forward to see how many other surprises will happen and who is going to be crowned as the Istanbul pole-man.
