Luckily Cyril Abiteboul didn't put a bet for a second podium with Daniel Ricciardo. After the one conquered in Germany, for the Eifel grand prix, the aussieman came back on the podium in Imola, with an outstanding performance in the Emilia Romagna grand prix.

The Renault driver started from the fifth spot on the grid and immediately gained a position over Pierre Gasly. The frenchman, then, was forced to retire. Daniel, who was running on soft, pitted after fourteenth laps to ward the hard tyres. He had to fight against Leclerc and the Sergio Perez, but the safety car put the mexican back in the field. After the last safety car, caused by Verstappen retirement, Daniel took the third position and held Daniil Kvyat back until the chequered flag: it is his second podium with Renault since he joined the team back in 2019. This is Ricciardo 31st podium.

Two podiums in three races! I’m very happy and I didn’t forget to do the ‘shoey’ this time around!" began Ricciardo, that forget to do the shoey in Germany. This time, he was also joined by race winner Lewis Hamilton.

"We were pretty settled in fifth but then Max triggered the safety car. It was the right thing to stay out, especially after Perez pitted. It is pretty difficult to overtake here and it was worth the risk today: it paid off. It’s a shame about Esteban as the car was strong today. The result here means we get into third in the Championship, which is what the team is aiming for. I’m super happy to come away from Imola with a great podium: big thanks for everyone at the team. No second tattoo this time round though, I think Cyril’s suffered enough!
