It has been an extremely difficult season for the Ferrari team. After having finished the 2019 season in second place in the constructors' championship, both the fans and the same team expected to have an equally decent season as the previous one, however, currently and after 12 races, the Italian team is positioned in sixth position with a total of 93 points, they are behind Mercedes, Red Bull, Racing Point, McLaren and Renault. On the other hand, in the drivers' championship, Charles Leclerc is fifth with 75 points (behind both Mercedes, Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo), while Sebastian Vettel is thirteenth with only 18 points. During the Portuguese Grand Prix, held last weekend, the German driver started the race eleven positions behind his teammate to finish 10th and take home the last point, while the Monegasque driver finished in fourth position alone behind both Mercedes and Max Verstappen's Red Bull. Sebastian Vettel showed his frustration at not being able to achieve better results.

“I have to think that we have the same car. I trust the people around me and in the garage." The German driver commented. “I have one thing that it obviously tells me about the stopwatch and the lap times, and the other is because of my feelings. Feeling wise, I really struggled to do good laps, be consistent and feel the grip that Charles is capable of. So, I'm working [on] that. "

“There is nothing but work that will get me out of there. Together with the team around me, I will try to get the most out of it and hopefully we'll be somewhere next week.” Seb stated.

The four-time world champion commented that what makes it difficult to have a good race is the starting position they have had lately. The German driver has struggled a lot to get into Q3, even to get into Q2, this makes his starting position for Sunday's race lower, which makes his comeback difficult.

Later, he was asked in the interview (reported by the “racefans.net”) if the characteristics of the current Ferrari did not suit his driving style as well as that of Charles Leclerc to which he replied: “No, no I believe it. I've been racing for a long time and sometimes there are cars that go their way. But other than that, you are trying to adapt as soon as possible and that is something you always have to do and I am doing it this year too. So nothing has changed." The German pilot stated.

This news can be contradicted by the statements that the same German driver commented on when the Portuguese Grand Prix was finished, in which he commented that he firmly believed that there were technical differences between Charles Leclerc's Ferrari and his own. "I'm not an idiot, the other Ferrari is much faster." Those were the exact words of the four-time world champion. Seb is frustrated but the trust between him and his team is left over. For its part, Ferrari has commented that both cars are exactly the same and there is no technical difference.
