F1 | Portuguese GP | Bottas leads the way in FP2 as Verstappen and Stroll clash
The Finnish is still the fastest as in the morning session, ahead of Verstappen and of the McLaren of Norris. Not much detached the Ferrari, with Leclerc fourth and Vettel sixth
The second free practice session of the Portuguese GP reports Valtteri Bottas as the fastest, with the time of 1:17.940. Second place for Max Verstappen, and third position for the McLaren of Norris.
Leclerc, Sainz, Vettel, Gasly, Hamilton, Ocon and Albon complete the drivers in the first ten positions.
This morning, in the FP1, Valtteri Bottas was as in the afternoon the fastest, ahead of his teammate Lewis Hamilton, confirming the great competitiveness of Mercedes on every track.
In this second session of free practice the two Ferrari showed an important potential, signing the fourth and the sixth time. Apparently, the updates brought by Ferrari here in Portugal managed to improve the performance of the car as a whole.
Sebastian Vettel seems, as in the last races, the most in difficulty respect to his teammate Leclerc, who manages to gain much more from the car, despite its problems.
At minute 43 then Pierre Gasly's car caught fire, forcing the French driver to end his free practice and the race direction to stop the session with the red flag. The fire however has been promptly extinguished, without fortunately any damage for the driver or any other car.

However, it was not the only red flag of the session. With 25 minutes left on the clock, a collision between Max Verstappen and Lance Stroll heading into T1 brought out the red flags. The incident is under investigation by FIA and the pair will be taking a trip to the steward's room.
