Overall today’s day wasn’t looking that good for Lewis, when compared to his team-mate’s sessions, Valtteri Bottas had edge in overall performance, it seemed missing of Friday practice sessions affected the world champion more than his Finnish team-mate.

In Mercedes Amg F1’s official press release reingningh champion shed light on his Qualifying and was of view that it wasn’t his day and car in Q3 wasn’t feeling the same as it was in his earlier runs of Q2.

“This is an amazing circuit and it’s great to be back here, but it just wasn’t my day today. The car felt good in Q2 but in Q3, I lost a little bit of pace so we’ll look through the data to see where I could find more time. Valtteri did a great job out there so congratulations to him.”

As there was no running on Friday due to the bad weather condition and on the safety grounds, Lewis thinks race will be wide open and there will be many opportunities as Nurburgring is returning after seven years and new generations of cars have no data of the track or any previous running.

He also thinks safety car, tyres and weather might play a rule as well and will be key factor in deciding the winner tomorrow

“I think there will be lots of opportunities in tomorrow’s race, we’ll need to see what happens with the weather and what the temperatures are like. How the tyres behave will be crucial, as will the start and if there are any Safety Cars”

Lewis potentially can equal Michael Schumacher’s record of all times ‘91’ wins tomorrow and it will be a special feeling to achieve that tally on Michael’s home circuit, so, Lewis is looking confident and motivated for the win in tomorrow’s race.

“It’s still all to play for, so I’m looking forward to tomorrow and I’ll get my head down tonight to make sure we’re in the best shape possible.”
