The thick colt of fog that had fallen over the Nurburgring Grand Prix has melted into a sunny and dry day on Saturday. Even if on Friday the harsh weather conditions made it impossible for the single-seaters to race and run during the two planned free practices session, on Sunday the situation has improved a lot.

So, here we go with the normal qualifying session. It was a beautiful and satisfying one, considering the awkward situation which involved the Eifel Grand Prix. Due to the Covid’s situation, indeed, the Formula 1 Circus organized this one-shot Grand Prix in practically no time. It was decided to race on the beautiful and dangerous Nurburgring track and, thanking the crazy weather conditions, the teams had to dive into this session with no free practices but one. They couldn’t have the right time to study the track and to adapt their cars and moreover they could not test them and adjusting them in the way. However, there are some news regarding the grid as well. Lance Stroll claimed to feel sick earlier this morning and the phobia of the Coronavirus made it necessary to substitute him with Nico Hulkenberg, who made it once again on the Formula 1 grid, starting from the back with Kimi Raikkonen.

Let’s have a look at the protagonists of today’s qualifying. Max Verstappen on his Red Bull engaged a great fight against the two Mercedes drivers, trying really hard to steal them the pole but in the end it was Valtteri Bottas to catch the pole, followed up by Lewis Hamilton and the Dutch.

Ferrari is again actor of a poor performance with Sebastian Vettel eliminated in the Q3 session, while Charles Leclerc made it to a gigantic 4th place. In fifth position there is Alex Albon, just behind him there it is Daniel Ricciardo, who gets a good sixth place. In seventh position there is the Australian’s teammate Esteban Ocon, followed up by Lando Norris. Sergio Perez’s Racing Point manages to catch the ninth place, just ahead of Carlos Sainz’s McLaren. Tomorrow is going to be a new day, we will have to wait to see if the sun will keep shining bright on Formula 1 or if the fog will bring some extra troubles at the Eifel GP.
