F1 | Eifel GP | Nico Hulkenberg replaces Lance Stroll for the remainder of the weekend
Hulkenberg will take part in his third Grand Prix weekend of 2020 as Lance Stroll is unwell.
Once again, he’s back. Nico Hulkenberg will drive for Racing Point at his home race at the Nurburgring.
The German, who replaced Sergio Perez at Silverstone for both races following the Mexican’s positive COVID test, is in for Lance Stroll this weekend as the Canadian is feeling unwell. Stroll didn't take part in FP3 and is out of the event.
Hulkenberg was due to be working for German broadcaster RTL in Cologne before the late call from Racing Point to deputise for Stroll. He was allowed into the paddock after it was confirmed he was negative following a COVID test.
After spending three seasons together as teammates from 2014-2016 at Force India, Hulkenberg and Perez are reunited back at the Silverstone-based team for the first time since the 2016 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
Hulkenberg is also the first driver since Paul Di Resta at the 2017 Hungarian Grand Prix to replace a driver at a Grand Prix weekend without doing any practice sessions before qualifying.

In a statement, Racing Point said: ‘’Nico Hulkenberg will drive for the BWT Racing Point F1 Team in this weekend’s Eifel Grand Prix after Lance Stroll was taken unwell.
"Lance did not feel 100% this morning and the team took the decision not to run him for the rest of the event. "Nico, who previously deputised for Sergio Perez at the Silverstone events, is familiar with the car and team already, and fortunately was in nearby Cologne."
