F1 | Eifel GP | Inclement German weather turns off FP2 too
Despite the optimistic weather forecasting, the weather conditions remain inclement, so much to cancel FP2 session too.
We all remember the Nurburgring circuit as one of the hardest tracks to race on. Settled in the Forest, the track is really tricky and it alternates incredibly diffult parts to heart-breaking curves and it is nowadays regarded as one of the most important parts of the Formula One motorsport’s story.
The Nurburgring is famous as the “Green Hell” just because of its hard characteristics and it is not for the faint-hearted. When the Covid’s sanitary emergency brought the German track back in the Formula 1 schedule there were a lot of people who have greated the news with happiness and excitement. It was, indeed, a good chance to verify how the new single-seaters would have adapted to such an historical track and how would the usual Mercedes domination respond to such a new circuit.
Well, these interrogatives remain unsolved yet. https://www.motorlat.com/notas/f1/17400/f1-eifel-gp-fp1-at-the-nurburgring-cancelled-due-to-adverse-weather
Indeed, we have not had the chance to watch the cars race here yet. The German weather seems to be undoomed and it seems to have decided to add an extra dose of mustery on the Eifel Grand Prix, not only for the fans but for the drivers too. The second session of free pratices has indeed been canceled too, just like the first session because of the unhealthy and dangerous weather conditions.
The fog has fallen on the German track this morning and it doesn't go away. This means that the helycopter cannot fly over the track, hence no racing action can start today and, if nothing actually changes, tomorrow we will not be able to watch the cars racing either.
What will it happen if tomorrow’s forecast will remain as unpredictable as today? It seems plausible indeed to expect another rainy, blurry and foggy weather to fall back on the Nurburgring area. Needless to say, not only it would bring to the cancelation of the last session too but it will threaten the qualy session and, indirectly, the race.
The “Green Hell” is showing off its worst traits. Will the Formula 1 be brave enough to go through its evil gates and race? Who will be, paraphrasing John Milton “the King of Hell” on Sunday?
Sadly, more umbrellas out than cars in FP2 ☔️
