Barcelona’s Montmelò circuit is one of the most used tracks during the whole year but August is proving to be the exception to that rule. The weather is extremely hot and the temperatures are literally melting everyone’s tyres, as Haas pointed out with a tweet on its official page.

The mix between a wavy ground and a hot temperature seems to be potentially destructive to Mercedes. The Silver Arrow, indeed, during the last two Grands Prix had suffered lot for the blistering and the pressure on their tyres. Lewis Hamilton is a perfectionist though, and he made it to win this session as well.

The Briton drove perfectly his W11 and he finished first again, showing up he has what it takes to be the Spanish Grand Prix pole man. His teammate Valtteri Bottas confirmed his second position. Max Verstappen is a confirmation too, as he finishes third once again but not without any polemic. Latifi said that the Dutch often complains about the others bringing his laps out but he did just the same and should have been put under investigation.

The home driver Carlos Sainz arrived 4th  with his McLaren, ahead of Perez’s Racing Point.

Coming to Ferrari, Charles Leclerc conquered a good 6th place meanwhile Sebastian Vettel arrived 12th, once more.

Pierre Gasly took a seventh position which seems to confirm the French’s consistency at this time. Who knows, this position could cost Albon his seat, as the other Red Bull driver arrived only 9th behind Lance Stroll. For Daniel Ricciardo there is a tenth place which is a bit disappointing after yesterday’s performance. These are only the Free Practices though. Let’s leave it up to the Qualifying to say who can be the 2020 Spain GP’s winner.
