When Sebastian Vettel brought his talent to Maranello back in 2015 with an ambitious goal to fulfil. The German had already won four World Championship and he thought that coming to Italy could be the right move to complete his career. He wanted to win some titles with Ferrari just like his hero Michael Schumacher did, that’s what was passing through Vettel’s mind when he was signing that deal that would have opened the way to the end of his career.

As we all know, things didn’t turn out this way as the German has “failed” in getting to a world title for the Prancing Horse.  Though, he doesn’t regret joining the most famous team in the World.

Ferrari has always been a dream of mine, massively inspired by my childhood, by Michael in the red car… I was inspired by him, and still am inspired by him because I think he is the best there ever was. – Vettel stated - I was hoping to take some championships away from Lewis [Hamilton] so that Michael’s record stands a bit longer; now we are a bit out of striking distance to try and block him. But I think I wanted this to work for myself more than for Michael. I think looking back, my mission, my target was to win a championship and we didn’t do that. So in that regard we failed. But still, we had some really good years, some highlights and some good races. So I don’t regret it.”

With Maranello now behind his back, Seb has to move on and start again, taking one new direction and get ready for a new adventure. His dreams, his fierce personality and his hunger for victories are still there.

“I am really here to achieve something and I will see in the next [period of] time whether that’s on the cards or it’s not,- he admitted-I think that will drive my decision. Given the right circumstances, I feel like – that’s the confidence I have – [I can] be as good as anyone else. But things need to be right.”

Walk on, Sebastian. Maybe with this switch of faith and looking at the cars, maybe going to the Racing could be a better move than staying in Ferrari.
