It seems like the rain brought some luck to the Scuderia Ferrari. The second session of the free practices was indeed wet and this change of perspective took a new and unexpected top- three schedule.

Sebastian Vettel dominated this session as he succeeded to drive perfectly an untameable SF1000 . The German have shown once again what he’s capable of, finishing a super quick lap in 1.40.464 and behind him there is a Silver Arrow but it is the one driven by Valtteri Bottas. Lewis Hamilton, in fact, committed some mistakes and couldn’t classify his lap.

The third driver in this schedule is Carlos Sainz on a super McLaren. The MCL35 by now looks very reliable on the aero and engine side, with both of his drivers ending at the top of the list. The Spanish completed his lap in 1.41.784.

The fourth and fifth positions are occupied by the great and improved Racing Point. The fourth is Lance Stroll who completed his lap in 1.42.380 and Checo Perez followed him closely with a time of 1.42.470.

Let’s go on the lower part of the top ten drivers: the sixth place has been taken by a super Pierre Gasly, with a lap of 1.42.588. This result was particularly important for the Frenchman, as he couldn’t complete the first session with his Alpha Tauri.

Behind him, there is, almost surprisingly, Max Verstappen with his Red Bull, which didn’t seem to find its best mode on the Hungaroring track, followed by Grosjean on his Haas. The following three of the FP2 standing are all somehow related to Ferrari. In the ninth position we find a former Prancing Horse driver, Kimi Raikkonen on his Alfa Romeo, followed by Charles Leclerc and in the 11th position we have the other Alfa Romeo, Giovinazzi’s one. The last two who ended the session are Lando Norris and Daniil Kvyat, the slowest of the ones who completed the laps with a time of 1.47.222.

As we are approaching the race on Sunday we start creating a weird image of a super emotional and deliciously unpredictable race… and we have to pray for the rain to bring it on.
