No PU upgrades for Ferrari-powered Haas in Austria
Haas will start the season-2020 with the old version of the power unit.
The season 2020 officially starts in two weeks in Austria. Initially, the season was supposed to start in March. However, due to the COVID 19 pandemic, it was delayed for several months.
For a fairly long waiting time, teams could better prepare for the season by improving their cars. However, the factories were closed on quarantine. And it seems that now some of the teams are faced with the risk of starting the season without car updates.
Recently, Ferrari announced that the team will have an updated power unit in the first race in Austria. While its customers – team Haas – confirmed they will not receive any updates.
According to the Haas principal Guenther Steiner, who took part at the press conference on Thursday, the team "will have the same engine like in Australia" when the championship begins at the Red Bull Ring in July.
