Following the closure of the Factory in Maranello and Formula 1 activities, Ferrari, is about to partner with Magneti Marelli and Siare, in producing ventilation machines to support hospitals against the COVID-19 emergency.

With Italy as the most impacted European country by the Corona virus outbreak, the Italian government has imposed a strict lockdown to contain community transmission.

While some firms have continued to run their current activities, Ferrari have found impossible to maintain its manufacturing line because of the supply chain disruption. As a result, the Maranello’s team has ceased immediately the production till the end of March, pointing out that also the Formula 1 team will not work as the pandemic continues.

Meanwhile, Ferrari seeks the opportunity to utilise the Maranello’s facilities to support the Italian sanitary system through the production of ventilation machines.

Indeed it is reported that the car manufacturer is about to join its historical partner Magneti Marelli, and Siare Engineering International, the leader in the sector, to double the weekly production from 150 to 300 units of ventilation machines.

Undoubtedly it is an extraordinary commitment by the Agnelli Family, who donated 10 million Euros to the Italian Authorities to face the COVID-19 emergency.

Indeed, the decision to support Siare in increasing its production capacity appears as a part of a plan to help the Italian public health sector in addressing the Coronavirus pandemic.
