The 2020 season is approaching, and we all are very excited for it. It will be the last season until the new rules of 2021 will appear. Will F1 change? A lot of people say that yes, F1 will change but some others disagree. Anyway, the 2020 season is what we care the most today. Will Mercedes continue its reigning years? Well, here are 5 records that Michael Schumacher has but could be broken by Lewis Hamilton this season.

1.- Most poles at the same Grand Prix.

Three drivers are tied. Ayrton Senna has 8 pole positions in San Marino, ironically, that track was the one in which the Brazilian legend passed away. The second driver that has 8 poles in the same circuit is, not surprisingly, Michael Schumacher. The legend achieved 8 pole positions in Suzuka, Japan. Finally, Lewis Hamilton has 8 pole positions in one of his favourite tracks, I’m talking about Austin, Texas. That means, if Lewis achieves pole position in the United States Grand Prix, he will be the driver with the most poles at the same GP with 9.

2.- Most Career Wins.

We all know that Michael Schumacher is the driver with the most career wins of F1 but he could be beaten by Lewis Hamilton this season. Michael has 91 race wins, in second place is Lewis with 84 and in third place is Sebastian Vettel with 53. That means, if Lewis Hamilton achieves 8 more wins, he will become the driver with the most career wins of all Formula 1.

3.- Total Races in the Points.

Once again, Michael Schumacher has the record with 221 races in the points, Lewis is tied with Kimi Raikkonen in the second place. The British and the Finn drivers have 213 races in the points. That means, if Lewis or Kimi finish on the points in 9 races this year, one of them will become the driver with the most total races in the points.

4.- Most Career Podiums.

This one is very likely to be broken by the British. Michael Schumacher had 155 in his career in F1, while Lewis has 151 and Seb has 120. Lewis Hamilton only needs 5 more podiums to become F1’s driver with the most career podiums.

5.- Most Wins with the Same Team.

Michael Schumacher has 72 wins with Ferrari, making him the driver with the most amount of wins with the same team, but Lewis could beat him if he gets 10 more wins with Mercedes so he would have 73 wins with the German team.

Which of these records will Lewis beat this season? Is he going to brake them all?
