Japanese GP | Qualifying to be held on Sunday morning
In breaking news just before FP1, it was confirmed qualifying would be pushed back to Sunday morning due to the typhoon hitting Suzuka tomorrow.
“As a result of the predicted impact of Typhoon Hagibis on the Formula One Japanese Grand Prix 2019, Mobilityland and the Japanese Automobile Federation (JAF) have decided to cancel all activities scheduled to take place on Saturday, 12 October.
The FIA and Formula 1 support this decision in the interest of safety for the spectators, competitors and everyone at the Suzuka Circuit.”
It was also confirmed that FP3 will not be rescheduled.
As for qualifying, it will take place at 10 am on Sunday morning, 5h10m before the race start.
